Geotextile

Geotextile is a synthetic material that is commonly used in civil engineering and construction projects. It is a type of permeable fabric that is made from polyester or polypropylene fibers, which are needle-punched or woven together to form a sheet. Geotextiles are often used in soil and water management applications to provide separation, filtration, reinforcement, and drainage. For example, they can be used as a separator between soil layers of different types or as a filter to prevent soil from clogging drainage systems. Geotextiles can also be used to reinforce slopes and embankments, as well as to prevent erosion in shoreline and coastal protection projects. Geotextiles come in various thicknesses and strengths depending on the specific application. They are lightweight, durable, and resistant to UV light, chemicals, and biological degradation. They are also relatively easy to install and can be cut to fit the specific requirements of a project.
