Gavial

The gavial, also known as the gharial, is a species of crocodilian that is native to the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the longest of all living crocodilians, with adult males measuring up to 6 meters (20 feet) in length. The gavial has a very long, narrow snout that is specialized for catching fish, which is its primary prey. Gavials are critically endangered due to habitat loss and hunting for their skin and meat. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their remaining populations, including captive breeding programs and habitat restoration. Despite being one of the largest crocodilian species, the gavial is relatively docile and not considered a threat to humans.
