Gecko

Geckos are a type of lizard that are found in warm regions throughout the world, including in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. There are over 1,500 species of geckos, and they vary in size and color. One of the most distinctive features of geckos is their ability to climb vertical surfaces and even walk upside down on ceilings. They do this using specialized toe pads that allow them to adhere to surfaces through van der Waals forces. Geckos are also known for their ability to shed their tails as a defense mechanism, and many species can regenerate their tails over time. Geckos are typically nocturnal and feed on insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. Some species are kept as pets, and they are popular for their interesting appearance and low-maintenance care requirements. However, it's important to note that owning a gecko as a pet requires proper research and preparation to ensure their health and well-being.
