Gaussian

Gaussian usually refers to the Gaussian distribution, also known as the normal distribution, which is a continuous probability distribution that is widely used in statistics and probability theory.

The Gaussian distribution is a bell-shaped curve that is symmetric around the mean (average) value. It is characterized by two parameters: the mean and the standard deviation. The mean is the center of the distribution, and the standard deviation determines the width of the curve.

The Gaussian distribution has several important properties, including the fact that it is used to model many natural phenomena, such as measurement errors, and that it is a limit of the binomial distribution, which makes it useful in many applications in statistics and probability theory. It is also used in machine learning and artificial intelligence for various purposes, such as feature extraction, clustering, and classification.
